I DID IT!!!
I uploaded it on Monday night, so it's been almost 36hours up now, and it has had about 18 views and 2 likes, which I am sooo happy about!!
So glad I have taken that first plunge into the world of YouTube, and now I feel like all I can do is try to improve on what I have already made.
I like what I tried to do with the editing, but I don't think it is actually amazing contents wise, and I have some more ideas that I am now looking at doing. But I am happy with it enough to leave it up as a first video..
If you want to have a look at it and give me some feed back that would be amazing!

Thank you so much in advance.

So Much To Do, So Little Time
Yes I know I have a full time job and I have a family, but I am also finding that wanting to make a Video to put up on YouTube that I feel is at least okay is really hard... I have so many ideas and thoughts, which lead to more ideas and thoughts, it's like an expanding kaleidoscope of things I have to do, or redo to make them better.
I know I just have to get started, do it.. but I have recorded what I wanted to be my first video, and have realised that it is too much for a first video, it won't actually make people want to watch it all the way through, so I need to go back and redo it..
My boys are getting ready for bed right now, and then I will be able to give another recording session a go, and then maybe even start with playing with the editing of it.
Fingers crossed tonight is the night I finally feel like I get somewhere.
Wish me luck :D

YouTube start up just keeps getting longer...
So the last couple of days have been my work days, so I haven't had the opportunity to put up a post on here as I have been doing lots of work on trying to get my first videos for YouTube made in the bits of time I get.
When you hear people saying that a lot of work goes into making a video they are not lying.. I think my first video is going to be about 10mins long, maybe less, but I was doing set up, intro and trying to work out exactly what I was doing, and all that took me about 5 hours including the final record.. which I actually now have to do again as I have found a better way to do it that will look better.
I am still watching "help with getting going on YouTube" type videos by Video Creators and Alloy Seven, and letting YouTube auto run similar videos after them which I have been absorbing information from.. I liked this one from Jakesepticeye: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPWrwd8GwrQ
The good thing is that I want to get a few video's ready to up load before I post my first, and they will hopefully be recorded at the same time.. and I really feel that once the ball is rolling and I know what I am doing and how I am doing it things will get faster..
But here is a sneak peak at what my World of Warcraft character will be looking like..
Thank you for reading this blog and hope you have the time to read my previous posts as well to get the whole story of what I am doing and I would love to get some comments or advice

Starting YouTube networking
So today I have really tried to start to get me and this blog space out and being seen and to do that I have dusted off my twitter account.
You may have noticed that at the bottom of my last two posts I have been putting #tags, I have no idea if they work from the blog page but I have been copying them into my google+ share and onto twitter, to try to get this blog looked at so that people can read what I am doing and give me feedback back.
I also searched #follow on twitter and basically followed everyone who come up on the list in the hope they would follow me as well.. and that worked! I have gone from 15 followers to 28! Almost double! Thank you all for that.
I also got some nice message interaction from a few people and that made me go to their links and sub their YouTube.
As well as doing that I have started planning out my ideas for what content I am going to be putting onto you tube and hopefully tomorrow I will be able to start putting that into action. Fingers crossed.
So thank you again if you have followed me on twitter and for taking the time to read this.
If you have found this blog by other means let me know where and my twitter is @Raven_selenite if you would like to follow me on their as well.

Starting YouTube
A couple of nights ago I thought out an idea of what I would like to do on YouTube, given my restricted equipment and set up. I want to do gaming videos, as that is something I know and love to do, and if I can entertain people and show them things they didn't know at the same time, that is a bonus. After watching a Video Creators vlog on How To Legally Use Copyrighted Music, Games, and Movies on YouTube one of the things that jumped out at me was that Blizzard, the makers of my all time favourite PC game World of Warcraft, allows users to record and post their gameplay for entertainment and money. Xbox also allow uploading of their game content, but not to make money from, and recently I have been playing Skyrim on my Xbox again, with the Special Edition having just been released.
The next thing was I started searching YouTube for videos on how to record gameplay. This is where my options were reduced. To record long gameplay footage of my Xbox I would need to buy some equipment. Not a lot, but more than I can afford right now. The items I would need are a HDMI splitter, possibly 2 HDMI cables if I can't find two spare ones in our pile of cables, and a Video Capture Card (about £50+ for that one). However, with Windows 10 there is an inbuilt Gameplay Capture that records up to an hour of game play, which is activated by pressing the windows key+G.
Next thing, I do not have is a Video Camera, but again on my laptop I have an in build web cam that can easily record me while I am playing games on the laptop.
So, I think that maybe to start World of Warcraft again might be the way to go! And you can play your characters that are under level 20 and make new ones, without paying to play. So I can make some home trail videos without spending anything.
I even have a plan of what I want to do, but you will have to see my videos to find that out!
However, after this evening of trying to do some Video Editing.. I think I might have another area of Videos to look at doing. My Journey into YouTubeing.
So now I am going to ask for some feed back, would you like to see my process for what I am trying to do and start with YouTube? Let me know in the comments.

First post
I'll start with a bit about myself and also some of my passions.
My no.1 passion is my family. My super amazing husband who supports me with anything I want to try, and our two beautiful boys who drive us both crazy at times but have brought us so much happiness and laughter and make me so proud. We also have 3 loving cats who are also apt to drive us crazy either with worry or their dashing about antics and not being able to decide if they want to be inside or outside. My life would be empty without all five of my boys and my sweet girl.
My next passion is gaming. I have been a gamer since my 10th birthdays when I got my first game boy with Zelda:Link to the Past, Super Mario Land and Tetras.. and later I got Wario as well.. I love my dad.
To be fair even before this I was gaming when ever I could, such as kicking the boys *** at Mortal Kombat and Sonic on the Mega Drive at my village youth club (at least that's how my memory thinks of it ;)
Present day I am still suffering from withdrawal from a 5 year stint of World of Warcraft.. I finally escaped about 4 and a half years ago, a little after my first son was born.. I did relapse earlier this year for 2 months, but time to play was not my friend.. and the pull to go back is stronger than ever.
When my husband and I got together my world of gaming expanded so much as he was a consol gamer and he brought his xbox 360 and Nintendo wii into my life. And we now have the Nintendo WiiU and Xbox One.
Currently I have started replaying Skyrim V on 360 until I can have the prettier one on XboxOne that was released on Friday last week... just got to wait for pay day....!
Besides computer games I also love two card games.. one is Magic the Gathering, and it was through playing this that I got to know my hubby before there was an us.
And my other card game is poker :( I have to say I am not a great player.. I mostly play at my friends cash game as my social night out, and I play one night a week in a local league. My online career is pretty much a disaster and I don't think I will ever be earning my millions there.. but watch this space just in case, lol.
So, after gaming and games I have a passion for crafting hobbies.. or should I say I have a passion for starting to craft. My current crafting path is crochet, and I have to say I have actually made some nice things. I also have a draw and box full of beading tools and beads. I will get back to beading.. I just don't have the lighting sorted for it.. or the right work area.. honest ;)
The final passion I am going to put down is my passion for books, I did want to be a librarian at one stage in my life, as I spent a lot of time in the school and local library's. For me books are amazing magical things that hold whole new world's withing their pages that are only a turn of a page away for me to escape into. My mum was my guide when I finally discover the joy of reading, having a ready copy of The Hobbit available when my 5th year teacher started reading it to us in class and was going to slowly for me as I wanted to know what happened next. After that she set me onto Terry Pratchet's Equal Rights and later onto Anne McCaffrey Dragons of Pern and David Eddings Belgarade.
Currently I recently bought books 1 to 7 of the Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind on Kindle for an amazing price and have recently re-read them. Reading The Pillars of Creation now.. and after this will be all new to me as this was as far as I got to before I lost my last set in paperback.
Well, I hope that all tells you a bit about me and what this blog might cover in the future.
Until next time, a smile helps the worry to slide away.
