I DID IT!!!

So I have uploaded my first YouTube video.. so excited.

I uploaded it on Monday night, so it's been almost 36hours up now, and it has had about 18 views and 2 likes, which I am sooo happy about!!

So glad I have taken that first plunge into the world of YouTube, and now I feel like all I can do is try to improve on what I have already made.

I like what I tried to do with the editing, but I don't think it is actually amazing contents wise, and I have some more ideas that I am now looking at doing. But I am happy with it enough to leave it up as a first video..

If you want to have a look at it and give me some feed back that would be amazing!

Thank you so much in advance.

So Much To Do, So Little Time

I am really struggling at the moment to find the time to enact all the ideas I am having..

Yes I know I have a full time job and I have a family, but I am also finding that wanting to make a Video to put up on YouTube that I feel is at least okay is really hard... I have so many ideas and thoughts, which lead to more ideas and thoughts, it's like an expanding kaleidoscope of things I have to do, or redo to make them better.

I know I just have to get started, do it.. but I have recorded what I wanted to be my first video, and have realised that it is too much for a first video, it won't actually make people want to watch it all the way through, so I need to go back and redo it..

My boys are getting ready for bed right now, and then I will be able to give another recording session a go, and then maybe even start with playing with the editing of it.

Fingers crossed tonight is the night I finally feel like I get somewhere.

Wish me luck :D

YouTube start up just keeps getting longer...

Hello everyone,

So the last couple of days have been my work days, so I haven't had the opportunity to put up a post on here as I have been doing lots of work on trying to get my first videos for YouTube made in the bits of time I get.

When you hear people saying that a lot of work goes into making a video they are not lying.. I think my first video is going to be about 10mins long, maybe less, but I was doing set up, intro and trying to work out exactly what I was doing, and all that took me about 5 hours including the final record.. which I actually now have to do again as I have found a better way to do it that will look better.

I am still watching "help with getting going on YouTube" type videos by Video Creators and Alloy Seven, and letting YouTube auto run similar videos after them which I have been absorbing information from.. I liked this one from Jakesepticeye: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPWrwd8GwrQ

The good thing is that I want to get a few video's ready to up load before I post my first, and they will hopefully be recorded at the same time.. and I really feel that once the ball is rolling and I know what I am doing and how I am doing it things will get faster..

But here is a sneak peak at what my World of Warcraft character will be looking like..

Thank you for reading this blog and hope you have the time to read my previous posts as well to get the whole story of what I am doing and I would love to get some comments or advice

Starting YouTube networking

So today I have really tried to start to get me and this blog space out and being seen and to do that I have dusted off my twitter account.
You may have noticed that at the bottom of my last two posts I have been putting #tags, I have no idea if they work from the blog page but I have been copying them into my google+ share and onto twitter, to try to get this blog looked at so that people can read what I am doing and give me feedback back.
I also searched #follow on twitter and basically followed everyone who come up on the list in the hope they would follow me as well.. and that worked! I have gone from 15 followers to 28! Almost double! Thank you all for that.
I also got some nice message interaction from a few people and that made me go to their links and sub their YouTube.
As well as doing that I have started planning out my ideas for what content I am going to be putting onto you tube and hopefully tomorrow I will be able to start putting that into action. Fingers crossed.

So thank you again if you have followed me on twitter and for taking the time to read this.
If you have found this blog by other means let me know where and my twitter is @Raven_selenite if you would like to follow me on their as well.

Starting YouTube

Today I have a question, but first I want to tell you what I have been doing the last couple of days in regards to YouTube.

A couple of nights ago I thought out an idea of what I would like to do on YouTube, given my restricted equipment and set up. I want to do gaming videos, as that is something I know and love to do, and if I can entertain people and show them things they didn't know at the same time, that is a bonus. After watching a Video Creators vlog on How To Legally Use Copyrighted Music, Games, and Movies on YouTube one of the things that jumped out at me was that Blizzard, the makers of my all time favourite PC game World of Warcraft, allows users to record and post their gameplay for entertainment and money. Xbox also allow uploading of their game content, but not to make money from, and recently I have been playing Skyrim on my Xbox again, with the Special Edition having just been released.

The next thing was I started searching YouTube for videos on how to record gameplay. This is where my options were reduced. To record long gameplay footage of my Xbox I would need to buy some equipment. Not a lot, but more than I can afford right now. The items I would need are a HDMI splitter, possibly 2 HDMI cables if I can't find two spare ones in our pile of cables, and a Video Capture Card (about £50+ for that one). However, with Windows 10 there is an inbuilt Gameplay Capture that records up to an hour of game play, which is activated by pressing the windows key+G.

Next thing, I do not have is a Video Camera, but again on my laptop I have an in build web cam that can easily record me while I am playing games on the laptop.

So, I think that maybe to start World of Warcraft again might be the way to go! And you can play your characters that are under level 20 and make new ones, without paying to play. So I can make some home trail videos without spending anything.

I even have a plan of what I want to do, but you will have to see my videos to find that out!

However, after this evening of trying to do some Video Editing.. I think I might have another area of Videos to look at doing. My Journey into YouTubeing.

So now I am going to ask for some feed back, would you like to see my process for what I am trying to do and start with YouTube? Let me know in the comments.

Pumpkins and Vlogging

So it's been about a week since my last post.. been really busy with work and family as well as feeling under the weather. But I have been quite productive in that time.
First off I set up the pumpkins for my boys to carve for Halloween, as well as carving my own little one. Above is one side of my pumpkin and below is my traditional scary face carve.

Next pumpkin is my 5 year old son design.. I love his eyes and he also wanted it to have a tongue, which is the little bit coming out of its mouth.

And finally we have our 3 year old sons design, with a really sweet tear. Well done to my hubby for the carving of these two.

Both the boys had a wonderful time trick or treating and came home with quite a haul of sweets from our local area. Might even keep them going until Christmas.

A lot of my little bits of spare time this week have been taken up with researching vlogging. I have come across some really useful you tubers that are helping me plan out and really think about how I want to start a venture like this. My inspiration for wanting to start making YouTube videos is Clare Siobhan and AliA. Honestly I only started watching YouTube regularly after I started playing Pokémon Go App back in July this year. One of Clares YouTube videos was posted up on my local Pokémon Facebook group as she was in my home town. So when I later decided to look up Pokémon Go on YouTube I found AliA, Clare's boy friend, who was posting new videos almost every day.
I really liked watching these videos as I couldn't go out and play the game myself as much as I wanted, and it also gave me information to help when I could play. So I subscribed to AliA, my first you tube subscription, and then I also found Clares YouTube channel, just as she left her job with Xbox to become a full time YouTuber. Chare started a YouTube series on the new updated release of Skyrim, which is a game I already loved on Xbox 360, and has made me really want to buy the re release on the Xbox One, with better graphics, all the Downloadable Content (DC's) and Modification (Mod) ability.. I just have to wait until payday, but it the meantime I am playing it on the Xbox 360 again.
Clare doing this has made me want to share my gaming loves with others, and who knows.. down the line maybe even a little bit of pocket money. But my main goal is to share and entertain. But I don't just want to jump in and get it all wrong. So I have been watching some more YouTubers who's channels are all about advise when you make a YouTube Channel. The first one I found was Video Creators who has also lead me to Alloy Seven, and I am currently trawling through their videos to glean what advice I can before I make the plunge into the world of making YouTube Videos.
The other thing I have done is work out what platform I can record on with the limited resources I have, ie, a PC laptop, an Xbox360 and One, a Wii and WiiU.. the main problem I have is I currently can not record more than 5 minutes of Xbox One game time (by using the inbuilt recording feature) as I need a HDMI splitter and a capture card to record it onto my laptop the then be able to add voice over commentary. Also the only video recorder a have is my phone, and the webcam on my lap top... so, VERY limited resources.
So, given all this I have a bit of a game plan in mind... but as I have to go and do family things right now, I will tell you about them next time.

See you soon.

Autumn walks

Went for a lovely morning walk in the park with younger son after dropping older son off at school. I just love the colours that come out in autumn! Younger son also had an amazing time in a massive pile of leaves that had been piled up to almost as big as him!

Then I have done some pumpkin carving and sorted out the trick or treat tubs for this evening. Will get a picture of the pumpkins once it is dark later.
